I came across this post in House of Turquoise blog and absolutely love the interiors of this Paris home. I love the chandelier of this bedroom, the armchair, the headboard and the big windows that overlook a balcony. I have the balcony windows in my own bedroom, but they have more of a Spanish feel to it.
Love this dining room, but I would've chosen a more drippy chandelier and hang it lower so I could see the prisms when I'm seated.
As I was in the process of clearing my cluttered paper, I came across some (very) old interior design plates I made for class almost 15 years ago! (Yup, I completed the one-year certificate course at PSID, and nevermind that it took me four years to do it, taking only two classes every term, between work and trips!)
Here we were asked to design a foyer and render it
While all my classmates were heavy into Modern Asian stuff, or just contemporary designs, I would always revert back to traditional design whenever we were given free hand to design the space.
My choice? Always traditional--chandelier, Louis XV ovalback chairs...
While most of my classmates hated the rendering part, I loved it. My rendering was not very "interior-design-like". My teacher would say "I know you like impressionist art, but in interior design, you have to render with details so your client can visualize what you are designing". Well, tsk tsk!
The original article of these Paris apartment pictures is from Harper's Bazaar. It's an article on the Perrin family and their wonderful Paris home. I'm putting it in my blog for my future reference of drapery, headboard and chandeliers--and also to remind myself that if I really worked at it, I can probably look like this cool mom (the one with spaghetti straps on the arm of the sofa) when my daughters are 19 (long gown woman) and 16 (sexy chick on the floor).
That will be one hot mama in a beautifully interior-designed house in Paris. Ooh-la-la! I like!
